Planning a food forest restoration project

Instructor: Elaine Codling

Creating productive systems that are restorative to the natural world can be as simple as backyard gardening or it can be as grand as the restoration of a whole watershed. Several large scale extensive techniques for bio-remediation including mycoremediation; planned grazing, and reforestation will be discussed.

In this class our focus will be on planning a reforestation project that allows us to becoming active participants in the ecosystems: a food forest. Permaculture techniques are always specific to the bio-region, micro-climate, and site, however, the strategies used in this exercise will be scaleable to a variety of similar situations.
